Flies

Prevention & Treatment

  1. Flying Insect Light Trap (FILT) Installation
  2. Traps installation around premises (Usually next to windows/doors).

  3. Oil Based Fogging

  4. Outdoor fogging surrounding premises.

  5. Larviciding

  6. Used in locations where there is a chance of larvae breeding to prevent further infestation.

Houseflies and other non-biting flies are not only bothersome pests, but they also contaminate food and spread disease. For example, flies have the ability to contaminate food and spread more than 100 illnesses, such as salmonella, malaria, and tuberculosis. One of the key factors making fly pest control so crucial is food contamination.

House Fly

The most prevalent fly in and around homes in Malaysia is the house fly. House flies are possible disease carriers in addition to being bothersome pests that buzz around dwellings. Although house flies have short lives, they can swiftly multiply in vast numbers, which, if not discovered and efficiently controlled, can result in large house fly populations.

Flying Blue Bottle

Blow flies, often known as bluebottle flies, are frequently observed buzzing near trash cans. These scavengers are recognised disease carriers because they are drawn to pet waste and deceased animals. Their name derives from the iridescent hues of their colours, which resemble coloured bottles.

Fruit flies

Fruit flies, which are 3 mm long, are frequently observed on fruit or hovering over fermenting wastes in pubs, orchards, vegetable plots, and breweries. Its colour is yellow-brown or mottled with stunningly crimson eyes. In a slow-moving flight, the abdomen hangs down and they tend to float.

Signs of Flies infestation

The presence of a few bothersome flies in your home or place of business does not necessarily indicate an infestation. It should serve as a reminder to take precautions, though.

Look at ceilings, other overhead structures, and wall surfaces for tiny, dark clusters of dots (the size of a pinhead). Verify challenging-to-clean spaces like drainage channels and drains, where waste may be gathering. Additionally, gully traps, the vicinity of sinks, and the region below deteriorated floor tiles should be watched.

Large numbers of flies hovering near trash dumps, wheelie bin bases, and other waste containers on a regular basis could be an indication of a more serious issue. Verify any area where water collects, such as in gutters, tyres, or outdated equipment. Additionally, flooded potted plants may draw flies.

Maggots are fly larvae, and they may be an indication of a prospective breeding spot on your land. Maggots may be present in waste area and deteriorating food.
